I Work With Individuals & Groups
Individual Therapy
Teletherapy is my favorite thing. It allows a new level of comfort for the client who can sit in their bed, on their couch, in their car, or even in their office at work. It allows me to get to know your environment a bit and allows you to see my dogs and my environment. I think the rapport building is easier and faster allowing for the true therapy to begin sooner. The advantages include avoiding traffic and drive time, having access to your journal or your family members if you want to share something unplanned with me. Sometimes I get to see different parts of you by seeing your children come in the room or I see what decor you have behind you in the video. It also allows you to keep sessions when you aren’t feeling well.
Art Therapy
Art therapy isn’t about being an artist or creating beautiful art. It is about the process of expressing feelings when it’s hard to put them into words. It’s about freeing yourself to explore trauma, pain, relationships, goals, and so many other topics with color, various art supplies and various media. Art, especially painting, has a natural relaxation effect similar to meditation but it’s more than that when you are allowed to put your inner experience on paper.
Group Therapy
Group therapy will also be teletherapy. Groups are powerful healing tools. Sharing our experiences and hearing others share their experiences can be life-changing. Empathy and compassion that are shared in a group is fulfilling, healing, and changing.

My Approach
I am eclectic in a world where the word “eclectic” is frowned on. I am diverse and have a wide array of experiences to draw from for providing the unique support and guidance that individual clients need. I believe in inner child work along with changing our mental programming, self-talk, and beliefs that were ingrained before we can even remember. I utilize techniques from the psychodynamic field, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, psycho-educational approaches because I believe the more you know about how your brain and mental health work, the better you can help yourself to heal and change, and also throw in some creativity along the way. I think there is power in words so I’m often suggesting client’s write letters to themselves or others for therapeutic use only. I absolutely will talk to you about journaling and gratitude, self-care, and being kind to yourself!
