Group therapy

Group sessions

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, serving clients in Texas and Illinois via secure teletherapy.

Group therapy is a facilitated, structured space for survivors and clients working through trauma, grief, anxiety, and life transitions to connect with others who understand. Groups have a clear beginning and end, and a facilitator guiding the process throughout.

You won’t be asked to share more than feels right. Participation stays private: what happens in group stays in group, and there’s no pressure to disclose anything you’re not ready to.

Areas I work with

  • Sexual abuse & trauma recovery
  • Childhood & complex trauma
  • Grief & pet loss
  • Anxiety & depression
  • Women’s empowerment

About group therapy

Healing in community works differently than individual work. Groups remind us we’re not the only ones carrying what we carry, and that connection with others who understand can be part of the healing process itself.

Every group is facilitated and structured, not an open share circle. You’ll know what to expect before you start, and you’re free to participate at whatever level feels right for you in each session.

Your privacy matters here. Group membership and anything shared in session stays confidential, and no one outside the group will know who attends.

FAQs about group therapy

Will I have to share my story in front of the group? No. Sharing is never required. You can listen, participate as much or as little as feels right, and set your own pace.

Will other people know I’m attending? No. Your participation stays private. Group membership and anything discussed in session stays confidential.

Is this an open, unstructured group? No. Every group is facilitated with a clear structure, a defined beginning and end, and a therapist guiding the process throughout.

Is this space LGBTQ-affirming? Yes. This is an explicitly LGBTQ+ affirming space. All identities and orientations are welcome and respected here.

How is group therapy different from individual therapy? Group therapy adds connection with others navigating similar experiences, guided by a facilitator. Many clients do both individual and group sessions together, though either can stand on its own.

Do you see clients outside of Texas? Yes. I’m licensed in both Texas and Illinois and see clients in either state via secure teletherapy.
